3 Types of Passion
The world seems to be split into roughly three different types of people: Those who have a passion for nothing, those who have a passion for one thing and those who have a passion for everything. This way of categorizing is not to cast a value judgement onto any particular group. My informal observation is that aspects such as intelligence, courage, moral fibre and wisdom seem roughly evenly...

Lame Dreams
Last night I dreamt about doing the dishes. There was nothing out of the ordinary. It wasn’t a huge stack of dishes.. nor was I using excessive amounts of soap… nor did a dragon suddenly appear that I was supposed to slay with the power of Palmolive. This is the normal context of the majority of dreams I remember myself having. But last night, I dreamt purely about doing the dishes.....

This is priceless.
Barack Obama made an audio recording for his book Dreams from my Father, which has some ‘bad’ words in it. This article lets you play a few of the clips. The last one is the best. Check it out:

Oklahoma passes law that protects doctors who lie...
quelrat:
jackiegarlich:
A law passed on Tuesday in Oklahoma “protects doctors from being sued if they decide not to tell patients that their fetus has birth defects. Writes McKinley, “The intent of the bill is to prevent parents from later suing doctors who withhold information to try to influence them against having an abortion.”
I can’t believe this is real.

Toss my Frisbee with someone..
But it’s kind of gloomy, I have no one to toss with, and I have stuff to do for Vienna.. *SIGH.*
Just so you knowwww
I have another blog that is dedicated solely to my trip to Austria- It will be like an online diary.. except without the things you don’t want to know.. or maybe you do want to know.. but that would make you obsessive or a stalker- and I’m not down with that.

Frau Freud
Carol Ann Duffy is honored as the first woman British Poet Laureate in the 341-year old history of the accolade. She’s great. This is one of her poems- Frau Freud (Mrs. Freud)
Ladies, for argument’s sake, let us say that I’ve seen my fair share of ding-a-ling, member and jock, of todger and nudger and percy and cock, of tackle, of three-for-a-bob, of willy and winky; in fact, you could...

Normally finishing a book is quite satisfying. You just feel accomplished or complete or some other satifying emotion. I just finished The Birthday Boys by Beryl Bainbridge, and really I just feel… awful. The book is so sad. I feel uncomfortable. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book where EVERYONE dies. The book ends with the person giving the narrative going outside to die, and...
